Line blot analysis and interpretations for IgG- and IgM-specific antibodies
This test is intended as the second step in testing serum samples found to have been equivocal or positive using an ELISA or IFA test as the first step to provide supportive evidence of infection with B burgdorferi. For CSF, order test 160457.

Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.

Detect antibodies specific for B burgdorferi. This test is intended as the second step in testing serum samples found to have been equivocal or positive using an ELISA or IFA test as the first step to provide supportive evidence of infection with B burgdorferi.
Line blot
Negative
Provides both IgM and IgG Line blot results. Increased specificity reduces cross-reactivity from other spirochetes. Detect and analyze antibodies against specific B burgdorferi proteins. The sensitivity of a Line blot assay by itself is not sufficient to assess Lyme infection adequately. Both EIA and Line blot tests should be performed.
